Nifty Gifty: Button It!

This giveaway is now closed.  Lori is our winner, and she has been contacted to receive her prize.  Thanks to all who participated!

That’s right—it’s the first official gift giveaway for My Chic Shanty, and we’re so happy to partner with Ginelle, who is actually married to my cousin, Casey.  (Speaking of marriage, she went the extra mile and made all of their wedding thank you cards herself!)  Using a variety of textured materials, including buttons, thread, vintage items, canvas, and more, these lovely pieces are created.

Ginelle’s family owns a greenhouse and flower shop in Canada, so crafting in the realm of flowers and plants is truly second nature to her.  Be sure to check out the rest of her unique designs online at her Etsy shop.

  2. Button it! Those are absolutely adorable! I have a huge red tin filled to the brim with buttons that I have collected over the years. In addition to my buttons, I added a bunch from my grandmother's sewing bag. When my boys were little, they loved looking through the tin (they're now 11 and 13, so they don't do it any more). :9

Honestly, I can't remember using the word "button it"!

  3. I don't have a lot of button memories, but as a mom, I'm pretty sure
I told my kids to "Button it" once or twice!
I love Ginelle's cards, I have a few setting around my house because
they are so cute! Neat give away idea! :) xo

  4. Button it! Most of my experience with buttons comes from sewing them back on Tim's and the boys' shirts, pants, or jackets! I love what Ginelle does with buttons, she is very talented and creative. I don't think I ever told anyone to button it but I am sure I wanted too! Ha! Cool idea! Love your blog, Jess!
